Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup of water


Steps

  1. Put the flour into a medium size bowl. (You can use more to make a larger batch, just double the recipe.)
  2. Add the baking powder.
  3. Dissolve the salt in the water. Heat the water to almost boiling.
  4. Create a well (indentation) in the flour. Slowly add the water while stirring with a fork.
  5. Continue stirring with the fork until you can’t mix it anymore.
  6. Now take off all jewelry and start mixing/kneading the dough with your hands.
  7. Keep kneading until all of the flour is mixed in. The dough should be slightly sticky but not hard. You can add slightly more water or flour if needed.
  8. Now take a rolling pin and pull off a small portion of the dough (about the size of a golf ball).
  9. Place it on the counter where you have sprinkled flour. Roll it out until it is as thin as you can make it.
  10. Place the rolled tortilla on a hot griddle (without grease) and cook on one side until you see it bubble.
  11. Now flip to the other side and cook for a few seconds.
  12. Continue in this manner until all your dough is cooked.
