Anne's Macaroni and Cheese
This is the macaroni and cheese I had as a kid. Nothing beats it when you are looking comfort food. I've toyed with the recipe just a little, and this is my version.
Ingredients
8 ounces elbow macaroni 2 tablespoons butter 1.5 cups cubed sharp cheddar cheese 1 teaspoon kosher salt 2 eggs, beaten 3 cups whole milk paprika to taste (I prefer hungarian smoked) black pepper to taste
Instructions
There you have it. The original recipe didn't call for black pepper to be included while baking or the shredded cheese topping. I also added my preferred method for boiling pasta.
The only part of the original recipe I disagree with is the note on the bottom of my mom's recipe card: "Velveeta is a good substitute for cheddar."
